Bod.e 12 Week Challenge Days 3 & 4

Sorry about not posting yesterday for the bod.e challenge. So I will update for yesterday and today :-) This week has been much easier than either of us thought it would be! Brad is diggin his meal plan, we make adjustments where needed, but the recipes are really yummy so we're happy about that!

Yesterday morning when I got up, I had the rest of the chicken and tomato salad that I didnt eat the night before with my shot of Vemma. When I finally got Brad out of bed (he says he's sleeping so much better these last few days while being on this weight loss journey!), he got up and had his Vanilla Bod.e Shake before we headed out the door for our 1 mile walk. He always takes a bottle of water with him, and I take my Verve (poured into my tumbler cup with ice) energy drink. Because he woke up late, it was getting pretty dark out when we went for our walk. And the trees along the sides of the trail didnt help lol. Brad said he wanted to strap a flashlight to my face lol.

It was a good walk and Skyla wasnt so worn out like she was on the 2 mile walk lol. Since yesterday was his high carb day, we each had 2 roast beef philly wraps (low carb tortilla, cream cheese spread, 4-5 slices of roast beef each tortilla, some tomatoes, and then mixed greens) which were actually soooo good! I was surprised because I dont care much for tomatoes but with the cream cheese in there and the roast beef and mixed greens, it didnt bother me so much!

Then because it was a high carb day, Brad had another shake mid day. I packed up his food to take to work, turkey tacos (yum!) with ground turkey, low sodium black beans, some cheese, and mixed greens in a low carb tortilla. And also some celery with natural peanut butter. He also took a bod.e burn to drink with his celery, and a bottle of water.

Then today, another low carb day, he tried the chocolate shake (yummy I tried some and like that one better lol) right before we headed out for our 2 mile walk. Today we went 2.6 miles instead because Brad wanted to push it just a little bit further :) We had a busy road to cross when we got down there, and since we had Skyla with us who gets nervous around cars, we just turned around and came back. But the walk was amazing and we took it slow (instead of the power walk that well, that I've been doing lol) so it felt great!

On the menu for today was cottage cheese with cucumbers. Brad lol wont try cottage cheese - I dont know why, it's really not THAT bad lol - so I made him 2 scrambled eggs to go along side his cucumbers. He liked that better :) I had a whole wheat english muffin (toasted) with some butter spray and peanut butter.

We headed over to his parents house for a bit to take them a couple of things we had of theirs, and we sat for a while and chatted. Brad's mom is going to start drinking the Vemma shots, so we took some over to her to get her started. We let her know that if any of her friends also want some, that she will get hers for free each month :-) Who doesnt love free stuff?!

We got home and it was about time to eat again. Turkey melts were on the menu, I still had 2 left over from the other day so it was super easy to get that out of the fridge and heat it up with some salsa and cheese. I also had a couple of dill pickle spears and Brad had 1 pickle spear.

That brings us to right now, Brad is eating some celery with natural peanut butter (he loves those things) and drinking a bod.e burn with it. I have to get up and see what I want to eat. I may go ahead and make myself another turkey taco ;-) Yes it's a high carb meal but I have recently realized I should probably be on somewhat of a different diet than he is on. Our body types are much different, and with the walking and added exercising we'll be doing starting next week - I should be eating a different menu all together. But I'll go into that later after I do a little more research on it. Its just so much easier for us both to eat the same thing so Im not making 2 different meals, and he's not craving something that Im having.

Today's Thought..

Today's thought on Vemma, the brand, and how it can make such a huge change in your life. Not only can the Vemma products give you a healthier life, but it can help those around you to get healthier. No pills, no strange powder drinks, no taking those not so nice tasting supplements.

And you know what? Vemma has something for everyone.

Vemma
For those of us older generation, there's Vemma. Vemma is our vitamin, nutrient, and antioxidant 2oz shot. Vemma goes to work each day to:
  • Protect and support a healthy heart
  • Enhance immune response and support immune system
  • Create abundant energy
  • Fight against free radicals
  • Promote good vision
  • Support a normal, healthy intestinal tract - and -
  • Maintain healthy skin, eyes, teeth, gums and hair.

  •

    Vemma NEXT
For our Kids (ages 2-12), there's Vemma NEXT. Nutrition for the NEXT generation.
Vemma NEXT is physician formulated and designed to support the nutrition and health of children. Vemma NEXT contains one ounce of the Vemma formula, vegetarian-sourced DHA, fruit and vegetable extracts and other supportive nutrients. Current research is finding that our modern-day diet and lifestyle is not meeting the dietary needs of our children. One recent study found that 70% of U.S. children do not get enough vitamin D, a key nutrient for bone health.

    Verve Healthy Energy
For the teens and 20 somethings who are big in the energy drink craze right now (and even for the 30 and 40 somethings who drink energy drinks, coffee, or sodas), there's Verve. Verve is a Healthy energy drink with 2 oz of the Vemma formula already inside every can. So they still drink the 2oz of Vemma that you or I drink, but they get it in a caffinated form so they dont need to drink sodas, coffee, or other energy drinks. Imagine giving your older kids an energy drink (that they drink anyways) but with added health benefits in every can. They are going to love not only drinking something that tastes good, but they are going to love that they can still drink their energy drink and not have to take what Mom is taking! ;-)

If you are my age range and older, maybe you dont drink energy drinks - but if you drink sodas or coffee or anything caffinated to get you through your day, then Verve is a healthy alternative to those. You may look at it and say "well I dont drink energy drinks, I dont like Red Bull or Monster or 5-hour Energy", but you are drinking something equivalant when you drink your coffee however many times per day to help keep you going through your day. Verve is just a healthier alternative each day, without those darn energy rushes when you drink it, and no energy crash when it wears off.

    So what's in Verve?
  • 80 mg of natural caffeine
  • Refreshing, lightly carbonated tropical flavor
  • Low natural sugar content
  • Unique blend of energy-enhancing ingredients
  • 12 full-spectrum vitamins
  • Over 65 major, trace and ultra-trace plant-sourced minerals
  • Powerful superjuice with mangosteen and aloe phytonutrients
  • No gluten
  • No artificial flavors or colors

  •
    Vemma Bod.e
The Vemma Bod.e products are weight loss products. No pills, no weird powders, no going on some strict diet to lose weight. Vemma teamed up with Chris Powell (host of Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition) to create the Vemma Bod.e line. You can use as many or as little of the Bod.e products that you choose! If you are keeping track of my husband's weight loss journey, you can see he takes the Bod.e cleanse once a day (for 7 days), he then has a Bod.e shake every morning for breakfast, and twice a week he will also have a shake for lunch. He then also drinks a Bod.e burn with his mid-day snack.

Bod.e shakes come in both Vanilla and Chocolate flavors, which some boast tastes like ice cream (probably by adding some ice and blending it up for a thicker shake). The Bod.e shake is convenient for breakfast and lunch, and supports healthy weight management goals by providing:
    • 16g of Muscle-Building Protein
    • 24g of Body-Boosting Carbohydrates
    • 7g of Hunger-Satisfying Fiber
    • 690mg of Brain-Supporting Omega-3
    • 20mL of Clinically Studied Vemma Formula

Bod.e Cleanse is a gentle, yet effective healthy weight solution that prepares your body for a transformation by removing the impurities weighing you down. Its 2 oz concentrate formula is easily mixed with 12 oz or more of water and helps support liver and digestive function, cleanse impurities at the cellular level and nourish your body for overall health.

Bod.e Burn (also comes in a zero caffeine concentrate) keeps your body in high gear by enhancing its burn potential, curbing your appetite, increasing your energy and delivering the nutritional support you need, all in a refreshing, lightly carbonated 8-oz beverage.

Bod.e Rest feeds your body with the same weight loss blend of ingredients included in Bod.e Burn zero caffeine, along with key nutrients known to prepare your body for rest, enhance your body's nightly restorative processes and nourish your body for overall health.

Bod.e Thirst 3-oz concentrate transforms water into a flavorful, healthy, hydrating beverage to support your every move before, during and/or after exercise. Activated with 16-oz or more of cold, purified water, it helps:
    • Hydrate your body's 63 trillion cells for optimal performance
    • Replenish electrolytes lost from physical activity
    • Support your body with three protein-building amino acids
    • Protect against cellular damage
    • Provide your nutritional support
    In Ending..
So to end todays thought, I just want to share with you how Vemma has already started changing my life. I drink a Vemma shot every morning, I know I am getting those vital vitamins and nutrients that I wouldnt otherwise get through out the day. Just by starting on this supplement, my husband and I are already changing our lifestyle. Trying the Vemma shots, and my husband trying the Verve energy drinks (to replace his Red Bull and 5 hour energy drinks he would buy), got us started on seriously thinking about his weight loss. He joined the Chris Powell weight loss challenge, we follow a meal plan (that we have full control over changing it up how we like), and we exercise at least 30 minutes every day. All this just because I took Vemma and loved how I felt better just from taking a 2oz shot of liquid every morning.

This product is changing our lives, and our children will see that healthy lifestyle that we are now living, and it will change them and their future for a more healthy lifestyle for themselves.

Thanks for reading Today's Thought :-)

    Bod.e 12 week Challenge - Day 2

Going strong! Day 2 of the Bod.e weight loss challenge for Brad! I wanted to start a video diary as well, but Brad doesnt like to be in front of the video camera :( I think I can talk him into a quick weigh in video once a week though as long as he doesnt have to say anything to the camera.

Today was great! Brad started off his day with a Bod.e vanilla shake, while I had my Vemma shot and made some roast beef deli slices layered between some mixed greens, then rolled the whole thing up, with a dill pickle spear and cubed cheese on the side. I had 1/2 cup of 1% Milk (when I say cup or half cup, I mean my 16oz drinking cup). After about an hour, we took a 2 mile walk with the dog (wow was she pooped when we got home LOL), we walked 1 mile one way, and the other mile back home. It took us 45 minutes. I had a Verve Energy over some ice in my new Vemma Tumbler, Brad had water. The weather today was absolutely perfect for a walk!

About an hour later we got another meal started. We had lettuce leaves topped with some ham and turkey deli slices, provolone cheese, and a little bit of mayo and mustard, then rolled those up (Brad had 3 of them, I ate 2). Brad had a pickle spear with his but I passed on the pickle since I had just eaten one with my last meal. We both had water with this meal.

We just finished up our "lunch" (Brad works night shift, so our daily schedule is a bit off but we're making it work until he starts day shift), which was spiced pork chops with steamed broccoli and cheese. I had a cup of 1% milk, Brad drank a ZS Verve and some water.

For the rest of tonights meals, I put together some food for Brad to take to work with him. His next snack will be a Bod.e Burn with some almonds. Yup, that's all he gets lol. Then he'll have a chicken & tomato salad (since he didnt have it last night, I made it for him tonight). Since he'll be at work for 9 hours or so, I threw in some carrots and 2 tbs of low fat ranch dressing for his morning snack before he comes home and goes to bed.

Then we get to start the day all over again tomorrow! :D But, tomorrow is a High Carb day so yay! we get to have wraps with low carb tortillas instead of lettuce leaves lol.

How was your day today? I want to hear all about it :-)

Recap for Day 2 Low Carb Meal Plan for Brad:

    ~ Bod.e Shake for breakfast
~ Ham and Cheese Rollup with Dill Pickle Spear
~ Spicy Pork Chops with Broccoli and Cheese (he took his bod.e cleanse shortly after)
    ~ Bod.e Burn and Almonds
~ Chicken and Tomato Salad with ZS Verve Energy Drink
~ Carrots and 2 tbs Fat Free Ranch Dressing

    Bod.e 12 week Challenge - Day 1

Hi guys! I would like to introduce you to my husband Brad. He is starting the Vemma Bod.e weight-loss challenge with Chris Powell (host of Extreme Makeover Weight Loss). Today is our first day of the challenge and I just wanted to share with you each day what we are doing, what we are eating, and if we were able to get some exercise in that day.

To start with, my husbands beginning weight is 342 lbs. His over-all weight-loss goal is to lose 92 lbs. I will be supporting him in his eating and exercise routine and would not be surprised if I lost some weight myself! So, I guess I will post my weight too and we'll see how I do :D My starting weight is 133 lbs. I used to be 110 lbs pre-3beautifuldaughters so if I could lose even 15 lbs and be around 115 again I would be happy with that! Now I guess we should post our ages? Does that make a difference? Brad is 32 and I am, um, lets say, older than 34 but younger than 36, does that work? LOL

Brad currently works night shift at his job, so that makes things a tad difficult as far as eating what he eats when he eats it and finding the right time to get that exercise in together when its not his day off. However, we will do the best we can and I will share it with you in hopes that you can follow us along on our journey and maybe start a weight loss journey of your own!

So this morning/afternoon we got up and got ready to go to the Vemma Area Event in Atlanta, GA. It was my first live event (i.e. not something I watched on youtube) so I was super excited! Brad started off with his first meal of the day which is the Bod.e shake (1 cup of skim milk with 1 scoop of vanilla shake), and had a Bod.e burn right after. He then grabbed his Verve on our way out the door (he did not grab a zero sugar verve which I was surprised at and told him those regular verves are mine and what is he doing.. lol). I drank my Vemma shot, had about 1/2 glass of 1% milk and we ran out the door.

Because the event in Atlanta was a 2 hour drive, and Brad needs to eat every 3 hours, we figured we would stop at a restaurant after the event before heading home. So we went to Chili's and we both had chicken salads with ice water. I also drank a Verve on our way to the event. They had pizza at the event lol which we thought was a little strange, but we passed and instead grabbed a couple of Verve Bold cans that were offered.

So we get home and its about time to eat yet again! Wow this is going to take some getting used to! I cleaned up the kitchen, then got out the ground turkey from the fridge, pre-heated my george forman grill, made turkey patties with one of those hamburger press plastic things (it was the first time I had used it and actually, it was awesome!). I was able to make 4 patties out of the 1 lb of the ground turkey (which for those who are on a budget, the store price for the pre made turkey patties, 4 count, was $1 more than grabbing the ground turkey), so Brad had one patty with some salsa and provolone cheese, and I had them same. The other two patties (cooked, may as well cook them all at the same time!) went in the fridge for another day. Oh, and I had another 1/2 cup of 1% milk and Brad drank a bottle of water.

So that brings us to now, I am not sure if we will be up in another 3 hours to eat again. But on the menu for 3 hours from now is a can of Bod.e burn with some celery and natural peanut butter. What does that leave for me to eat? Good question... However, I have a feeling that day 1 will be a half menu meal day.

We did not get any exercise in today, unless you count the walk from the parking garage, through the rain, and into the hotel for the Vemma event as exercise lol.

Recap for Day 1 Low Carb Meal Plan for Brad:

~ Bod.e Shake for breakfast (drink your first bod.e cleanse probably around the same time)
~ Chicken salad with a few vegetables, water to drink
~ Turkey Melt (ground turkey patties, dab of salsa on top, cover with provolone cheese to melt), water to drink
We did not have the rest of the meal plan, but I will post it in case you are following us!
~ Bod.e Burn, Celery with Natural Peanut Butter (6 celery sticks topped with natural peanut butter)
~ Chicken and Tomato Salad (boneless skinless chicken breast, 1 1/2 cups mixed greens, 1/4 cup sliced cucumber, 1/4 medium bell pepper sliced, 3-4 yellow and/or red grape tomotoes, 2 tbs reduced fat balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing)

If you are doing your own weight-loss journey, I would love to hear how you are doing!

    My First Post! Welcome!

Hey guys! I wanted to start this blog to share with you my new home business, and how the Vemma products are changing my life and my husbands. I will be doing video journals as well, following my husband's weight loss journey as he joins the Vemma Bod.e Challenge with Chris Powell and the training website and app for his phone. I will also do some personal success videos on my business experience with Vemma, as well as some product information, my views and thoughts on comments people make about Vemma, and just check in daily or every other day about how Vemma is changing my life.

I posted my first youtube video just yesterday. I have been a Brand Partner with Vemma for 2 weeks now. I got started in the business and went through the training which took about a week. Then this last week I worked on introducing Vemma to my facebook friends and family, enrolled my husband in the 12 week Bod.e weight loss challenge, sent out some Verve Energy drink samples to some family and friends, posted on twitter, followed the vemma, verve, and bod.e pages on facebook, and made my first youtube video. Whew! I look forward to what this next week brings!

I can tell you that I will always be completely honest in my posts and my videos. I will share both the good and the bad, describe what I am doing to promote Vemma in hopes that it will help others out there to also promote Vemma if you are just getting started in this business and need some tips or advice. You can also find me on facebook and send me a friend request, or send me an email by clicking on my profile link on the side bar to the right. I will always do my best to answer any questions you have, and if I dont know the answer to a question I will either look it up or ask my Vemma mentor.

I want us all to succeed in this business. And even if you decide the business is not for you, that is perfectly OK! I know you have to love what you do, and if you arent loving the products then you cant be an honest representative of the products. I figure, if you like the products, either by checking them out for yourself or through sampling them from a friend or family member, then why not get paid to promote it if it's something you are passionate about as well?

I know for myself, I want a healthier lifestyle for myself and my family. I absolutely love how easy it is to grab my Vemma shot in the morning with breakfast and with 3 drinks its gone, and I go about my day not having to worry about taking pills for my vitamin supplements. When you start taking healthy products, you start wanting to live healthier. And you know, my Vemma shot doesnt taste half bad! I shake it well to get all those nutrients mixed well together, and drink it right down. Easy, done, on with the next part of my day! Then in the afternoon, instead of grabbing my usual Wild Cherry Pepsi, I grab a Verve Energy drink. I just grab it out of the fridge and pour it into my tumbler cup with ice and Im good to go! I dont feel any rush of energy or get any kind of energy high, I just notice that I dont get tired half way through my day like I normally do! And the great thing about that is since there is no rush of energy, there is also no energy crash when it wears off!

So in ending, I hope this blog helps people who are living a healthier lifestyle, whether you're using the Vemma products or not, or who want to start living healthier.

    Thanks for reading! :-)
